In the upcoming days, Almaty will
become a platform for discussing crucial economic issues in Central Asia and
concrete steps to address them. From March 13 to 15, the metropolis is set to
host the inaugural B5+1 Business Forum with the participation of representatives
from governments and business communities of the five Central Asian countries
and the United States, as well as the official launch of the platform, as
shared during a briefing by Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Aibek
Smadiyarov. He also announced forthcoming visits by government officials,
including Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu’s visit to Armenia and Trade and
Integration Minister Arman Shakkaliyev’s visit to China, scheduled from March
18 to 24. In China, the Kazakh delegation will visit the cities of Urumqi,
Chengdu, and Beijing, holding meetings with the leadership of a number of
Chinese regions and leading local companies. Discussions will cover cooperation
prospects in various sectors, including trade, investment, technological and
scientific research. Kazakh and Chinese companies will discuss launching joint
projects, strengthening partnerships, and exploring new opportunities at a
major B2B forum in Chengdu. Additionally, Smadiyarov noted that the Kazakh
delegation’s visit to Armenia is scheduled for March 17-18.
“The visit agenda includes
meetings with the country's leadership, as well as negotiations with Armenian
Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, to discuss a wide range of issues related to
Kazakh-Armenian cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural and
humanitarian spheres. Additionally, the Foreign Ministers will sign an Action
Plan between the relevant ministries of the two countries for 2024-2025,” Smadiyarov
said.
