Tokayev congratulated Kazakh citizens on the national holiday – Republic Day.
During the ceremony at the Akorda Presidential Palace, he presented awards and
state prizes to prominent figures from various fields. The adoption of the
Declaration of State Sovereignty marks the beginning of Kazakhstan’s Independence,
he stressed, while unity and cohesion serve as its foundation. Tokayev
emphasized that large-scale political transformations have set a new vector for
democratic development. The constitutional reform allowed to restructure the
institutions of power and create a stable political system based on openness,
justice, and, most importantly, the principle of serving the people.
«A clear example of
this was the results of the recent referendum on a nuclear power plant. Over 70
percent of citizens voted for its construction. This decision confirmed that in
fateful situations, our nation chooses progress. One of the key postulates of
our state policy is «different opinions – one nation.» In general, the problem
of growing energy shortage is extremely urgent for our country. If it is not
solved in a timely manner, it will slow down our economic development and lower
the quality of life for citizens,» Tokayev said.
The Head of State
highlighted the extensive work being carried out in line with the economic
course of a Just Kazakhstan. Besides the energy sector, the country is building
its transport and industrial framework. The diversification of the economy is
actively underway, and the agricultural sector is making progress as well.
«Kazakhstan will
continue to strengthen its role in the global food market. To date, the harvest campaign has been completed. I would like to
express my sincere gratitude to all farmers. Despite the spring floods, over 26
million tonnes of grain were harvested, making a record high. Of course, the
real assistance provided by the state contributed to these results. This year,
the volume of preferential loans for the spring sowing campaign has tripled,» Tokayev
noted.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan
is actively working on enhancing its business climate and investment appeal, a
goal driven by the Decree on the liberalization of the economy. Elaborating on the
priority areas of social and foreign policy, Tokayev emphasized that the first
field focuses on support for healthcare and education. In foreign policy,
Kazakhstan is pursuing a balanced and constructive course rooted in national
interests. The President reaffirmed the nation’s intent to maintain stability
and harmony. He also underscored that the country’s achievements are a
collective success of the entire nation.
