Over 1,000 volunteers involved in fifth World Nomad Games

The fifth World Nomad Games feature 1,300 volunteers assisting guests and participants of the event. Over 4,500 people from the Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, the U.S., Türkiye, Germany, France, Spain, South Korea, Turkmenistan, and Ghana applied to volunteer at the venues, which includes organizational responsibilities such as welcoming and seeing off guests, offering information support, and others. Those selected have been provided with uniforms, meals, transportation, and internet access. Ten volunteers from Bishkek were among the first to arrive in Astana.

«The volunteer selection process began at the end of January. They include not only students and young people but also retirees from Astana’s Longevity centers, known as «silver volunteers». In selecting, we assessed knowledge of foreign languages and Kazakh national customs, traditions, and national games. This expertise allows workers to effectively showcase the Kazakh people’s hospitality,» said Saulet Abuov, chief specialist of the volunteer department at the Directorate for Preparation and Holding of the fifth World Nomad Games.

«I have over four to five years of volunteer experience. We always put our hearts into volunteering, helping others, and participating in international events. We promptly received uniforms and all necessary items, overalls, and shapan robes, which we really liked,» noted Yerbol Bakhtiyaruulu, volunteer from the Kyrgyz Republic.
