Today, on the seventh day of the Nauryznama Decade,
Kazakhstan celebrates National Sports Day. Traditional Kazakh sports such as Kokpar,
Togyzkumalak (nine pellets), and Kazakh Kuresi (Kazakh wrestling) are gaining
worldwide recognition and popularity. To mark the occasion, a military sports
relay race was held at the National Guard military unit. Participants
demonstrated strength, agility, and team spirit, showcasing their skills in
both military disciplines and national sports. The servicemen assembled and
disassembled assault rifles, competed in a group race, and took part in
traditional events such as arkan tartys (tug-of-war) and kettlebell lifting.
«Today, we held this sports event to enhance combat training
and strengthen the unity of the National Guard servicemen,» said National Guard
deputy company commander Adilet Muratov.
«Four teams are participating, including Sunkar, Kaisar, and
Arlan. I am confident that the soldiers have prepared well for this competition
and have demonstrated excellent performance,» said senior specialist of the National
Guard combat training unit Berik Mussilimov.
