More than 130 investment projects are envisaged in
Astana’s updated master plan until 2035. The projects will be implemented in industry, logistics, as
well as social and business infrastructure. Environmental safety will also
remain a priority. The projects will undergo environmental impact assessments, with
their effects on air and water quality taken into account.
«The 134 key investment projects planned in Astana can be divided into three categories. These include industrial facilities, which will mainly be located in the northern industrial part of the city, where existing enterprises and energy facilities are already concentrated. Logistics facilities will be situated along the city’s main transport corridors, particularly the Korgalzhyn and Karagandy highways, where larger logistics-related facilities will also be located. Social infrastructure will include sports complexes, hospitals, and children’s centers,» noted Vitaliy Kuzin, Director of the «Green Bridge» company.
«Under the Strategic
Environmental Assessment (SEA), the potential impact of the planned facilities
on air and water quality, green spaces, and public health is being evaluated.
Measures to mitigate environmental risks and preserve the natural balance as the city continues to grow are also under
consideration,» said Guldana
Abish, architect at the «AstanaGenPlan» Scientific Research and Design
Institute.
