Kazakhstan’s manufacturing industry grew by more than
6% in the first seven months of the year, with the sector’s output exceeding 16
trillion tenge. Overall, the industry’s share in the country’s economy rose to 14%.
The government reported these figures, emphasizing that they are the result of President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s instructions to build a strong industrial foundation
for the country. To support entrepreneurs, 500 billion tenge was allocated
through development institutions for the implementation of 115 projects.
Regulated public procurement has also become an important tool. Between January
and July, the volume of goods purchased from domestic companies increased 1.5
times, surpassing 1.2 trillion tenge.
«On the
instruction of the Head of State, one of the Government’s current priorities is
to build a strong industrial foundation for our country. The Ministry of
Industry and Construction is now focused on supporting the manufacturing sector
and, of course, our domestic producers. Thanks to the industrialization policy,
we are already seeing the manufacturing sector outpace the mining industry in
terms of growth,» noted Kazakh Minister of Industry and
Construction Yersayin Nagaspayev.
