Kazakhstan starts producing helicopter-type drones

Irbis helicopter-type drones were first produced in Kazakhstan.  According to experts, they are able to lift up to 7 kilograms of cargo into the air, and the range reaches 60 kilometers.  It took the manufacturers two years to create a prototype.  UAVs of domestic production are designed to work in the military, civil and industrial sectors.  Drones will also be able to conduct environmental monitoring and assess the extent of emergencies.  The capabilities of the new device are not limited to this alone.

“First, it is designed for agriculture, to mark the land and river floods.  This is very applicable to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.  It will also be intended for the Ministry of Defense, for the state security forces, and for the oil pipelines that run across the western Kazakhstan,” said Ratmir Komratov, Adviser to Chairman, ‘Kazakhstan Engineering’ National Company.
