Inbound tourism in Kazakhstan is
on the rise. The number of foreign visitors has exceeded 1.1 million people,
most of whom arrived from China. Last year, over 126,000 Chinese tourists visited
the country since November 10, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson reports.
According to the ministry, the abolition of visas between the two countries made
a positive impact on the overall tourist flow. A total of 173,000 Kazakh people
visited China since then. The international openness of Kazakhstan, which
applied visa exemption to more than 80 countries, has significantly contributed
to tourism growth, experts note. Thus, a 14-day visa-free regime has led to a
threefold increase in tourist arrivals from India, surging from 28,000 people
in 2022 to 78,000 in 2023.
