The Kazakh flag will be drawn in the sky during the military
parade in Astana. To prepare for this, pilots conducted a series of training
flights, first practicing the maneuvers on the ground. According to Deputy
Squadron Commander Gabit Umurzakov, only after this will the pilots undertake
the important mission. During the flight, the key task is to simultaneously
spray blue and yellow paint, ensuring the image is even and clear. There is no
room for error. Thanks to a special technique, the released paint evaporates in
the air and does not reach the ground.
«This year, we have the honor of releasing our national flag
in the form of smoke trails. The command comes from the lead aircraft in our
group — the first plane in the formation. As it approaches a set distance from
the main tribune, the lead pilot gives the signal to release the smoke, and we
all follow the command,» Umurzakov said.
Synchronization and engineering precision are crucial
between the aircraft, as five other planes fly just centimeters away from
yours.
«We keep our eyes on each other — the second pilot follows
the first, and each subsequent pilot maintains their assigned position in the
sequence. There is a specific interval or distance between each aircraft, and
each pilot keeps it precisely,» Umurzakov added.
A large-scale military parade in honor of the 80th
anniversary of Victory will take place in Astana on May 7. Over 4,000 service
members, more than 300 units of military and special equipment, and 66 aircraft
and helicopters will participate.
