Kazakhstan establishes modern gas processing industry

Two gas processing plants, a new compressor station, the Aktobe-Kostanai main gas pipeline, and the second line of the Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent gas pipeline are slated for construction in Kazakhstan. These projects, aimed at ensuring the country’s energy security and maintaining export levels, will be implemented in partnership with Qatar. This was discussed today at an Energy Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. The main terms of the cooperation were also approved. According to the Ministry of Energy and QazaqGaz national company, gas production in Kazakhstan is expected to reach 60 billion cubic meters this year, with commercial gas production planned at 28 billion cubic meters.
