Kazakhstan, Czech Republic aim to enhance cooperation

Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic intend to enhance their cooperation, with the energy sector being one of the promising areas of partnership. The two countries are focusing on opportunities for joint projects in renewable energy. In an exclusive interview with the Silk Way TV channel, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský emphasized the Czech Republic’s commitment to launching and developing new production facilities in Kazakhstan. A Czech automotive plant is already in operation in the country, and the Czech Republic is also ready to supply aircraft. Overall, bilateral trade has been gaining momentum recently, as reflected in the figures.

«Kazakhstan plays a very important role in our foreign policy, given the strength of our economic ties, ongoing projects and planned projects. The turnout of our economic exchange was €1.6 billion last year. It seems to me that this year we will make similar and maybe better numbers. So, there is a wide range of sectors where this cooperation is really flourishing. I’m here to discover more, and political dialogue is always very important for business ties,» said Lipavský.

According to him, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic are ready to continue their cooperation in the fields of science and education. Additionally, the countries have successfully launched a joint project to reintroduce the Przewalski’s horse breed in Kazakhstan. The first batch of animals was sent from Prague to Kazakhstan this summer. The Czech Republic intends to continue providing assistance in reviving the breed’s population.
