Kazakhstan, China sign business contracts worth nearly $165 million

Kazakhstan is set to expand its transportation and logistics capabilities, with experts predicting a fivefold increase in the transshipment of Chinese cargo through the country in the medium term. This was discussed at the Second Forum of Kazakh Exporters and a conference on trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Chinese province of Sichuan. During the event, businesspeople from both countries signed contracts worth $165 million for the supply of goods. Kazakhstan is currently increasing its trade volumes with one of the largest provinces of China. The trade turnover with Sichuan stands at nearly $230 million, with Kazakh exports comprising $45 million of this total. The province is ready to procure large quantities of Kazakh oil and fat and grain products, beverages, confectionery, and other goods. Additionally, the QazTrade Center for Trade Policy Development will soon launch a trade office in Sichuan. The export operator will serve as a link between domestic enterprises and major Chinese companies.
