The Islamic Development Bank
(IsDB) will finance water management projects in Kazakhstan, with the first
tranches set to be directed this year. This announcement came during a meeting
between Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Nurlan
Baibazarov and IsDB Group President Muhammad Al Jasser held in Saudi Arabia.
The country needs investments for the construction and renovation of
reservoirs, hydraulic structures, irrigation systems, and more. Additionally,
there are plans to allocate grants for technical documentation preparation.
Notably, 67 projects worth $1.8 billion have been implemented in Kazakhstan
with IsDB’s participation.
