An innovative method was introduced in Kokshetau to aid people in learning Kazakh. A language club named “Tіldeseyik, dostar!” opened there. Here, students study the state language not with the help of teachers, but in an informal circle, mainly with the help of doing listening exercises and learning the pronunciation. Club participants have short conversations on various topics. Students of various ages, young and old, come to the club. According to experts, this format already proved to be effective.
“We have one special feature -- we teach without any grammar, by speaking, building dialogues, solving situational problems, showing videos. But the most important is the desire and attitude of the students themselves,” said a teacher Madina Kokenova.
Aside from speaking, students are introduced to the ancient Kazakh traditions and customs, they are taught to compose small dialogues and do language exercises.
“There are 20 study centers that teach the state language. Now there are also the language clubs. The number of students in them is constantly growing. Representatives of other ethnic groups of various ages show great interest in the study of Kazakh. Many of them need the Kazakh language for work,” noted Karatai Tulekeyev, Director of the Regional Education and Training Center.
