The volume of industrial
production in Kazakhstan in 2022 grew to nearly 50 trillion tenge, according to
the Bureau of National Statistics. The most significant growth was observed in
the Akmola, Abai and Zhambyl regions. In terms of sectors, growth was seen in
the chemical, light, manufacturing and engineering industries, as well as food
production and oil refining. The production of vegetable and animal oils and
fats experienced the most substantial increase. It bears noting that in 2021,
industrial production in Kazakhstan increased by almost four percent, largely
driven by the expansion of the domestic manufacturing sector, which continued
to increase production volumes even amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
