‘China - Europe’ rail freight routes launches through ‘Dostyk - Alashankou’ crossing

China is launching new cargo routes in the direction of the Dostyk-Alashankou international crossing, located on the border with Kazakhstan. According to the China Railway Company, the process is taking place as part of the work on increasing the volume of cargo transportation on the China-Europe route. According to representatives of the Chinese transport and logistics companies, a total of more than 3,500 freight trains and 350,000 containers were dispatched in the first quarter of 2022. Car parts and electronic products comprise the majority of goods transported along the international route. The international crossing ‘Dostyk - Alashankou’ is an important link in the development of trade and economic relations between the European and Asian countries. It was previously reported that railway corridors in the direction of China will be developed in accordance with the growth of transit.
