Kazakhstan has revised the rules for selecting candidates
for the Bolashak International Scholarship. The government has adopted the
corresponding decree. The updated competitive selection process now includes a
screening mechanism, whereby candidates who do not achieve the required score
at any stage will not be able to proceed to the next round. Additionally, a
motivation letter has been added to the list of required documents. Applicants
who do not pass the selection will be able to reapply within the same calendar
year. Civil servants will have the opportunity to pursue a master’s program
with the option of language courses. Graduates of the program will have the
chance to complete a work placement in international organizations of which
Kazakhstan is a member, such as the United Nations (UN), UNESCO, the Shanghai
Cooperation Organization (SCO), and others. These changes aim to enhance the
Bolashak program and train highly qualified specialists for various sectors of
the country's economy.
