Astau is an ancient type of woodenware designed to serve mainly meat dishes. Such tableware was appreciated by our ancestors, and now they are in great demand. At weddings and other events, main dishes of the celebration are served in astau. Today, perhaps every Kazakh family has it.
This astau workshop was opened by Danabek Rysbekov and Ardak Berikov. Initially, it was planned to produce not only astau, but other types of wooden utensils as well. However, the demand for astau was so high, that craftsmen decided to focus exclusively on it. Craftsmen had to dive into history, study all the subtleties before they presented a new product to the customers.
