30 agreements and memorandums worth nearly six and a half billion dollars have been signed with Chinese investors following the
Alatau City Roadshow in China, Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev reported
to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. As part of the international presentation
of investment opportunities for Kazakhstan’s city of the future, a total of 20
meetings were held, including meetings with authorities and business
communities in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The Head of State was also briefed on
the implementation of water resource projects, including the construction of
new reservoirs. In addition, progress on the national project to modernize the
energy and utilities sectors was reviewed. This year, a record of over 1
trillion tenge will be allocated for infrastructure upgrades. President Tokayev
instructed that domestic producers be involved in these projects and that
necessary funding be allocated for the development of infrastructure in Alatau
City.
