144 CIS observers to monitor referendum in Kazakhstan

144 observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States will attend the voting at the national referendum, which will take place this Sunday, June 5. They have already been assigned to certain polling stations all over Kazakhstan. This is the 15th mission of CIS observers in the country so far. This time it includes representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, Parliamentary Assembly of Russia and Belarus and some other countries.

“Our main working group is the observers mission, and as I have already mentioned, they are long-term observers, generally embassies and mission headquarters representatives. They have worked since May 21. Other members will arrive as usual two-three days before the voting,” said Leonid Anfimov, Head of the CIS Observer Mission.
