UN assesses Kazakhstan’s potential as digital trade hub

Openness to international and digital trade unlocks Kazakhstan’s potential as one of Eurasia’s leading logistics and innovation hubs. This view was shared in an interview with our TV Channel by Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. According to her, building digital connectivity with all regions of the world is becoming a decisive factor in the country’s success in this area. The adoption of international standards is essential for increasing trade flows, ensuring seamless cargo transportation, and strengthening global supply chains. Anna Joubin-Bret invited Kazakhstan to participate in the development of new solutions and mechanisms in the field of international trade.

«We see, indeed, a great proliferation of different trade corridors and different integrated solutions, but what we dont see as yet is one single legal basis. And so this is really what we have been working on at UNCITRAL. What we have done is developed, for instance, a new convention, the United Nations Convention on Negotiable Cargo Documents, which will precisely respond to this need of going beyond a region and using the same documents of transport across all regionsnoted Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).
