Creating a theatrical costume for
an opera or ballet is not only a flight of fancy and a creative endeavor, but
also a rather labor-intensive process that requires sewing, cutting, painting
and even jewelry skills. The level of execution required is very high and often
takes enormous amounts of hours. Despite the challenges, the final product, the
