The art of costume

Creating a theatrical costume for an opera or ballet is not only a flight of fancy and a creative endeavor, but also a rather labor-intensive process that requires sewing, cutting, painting and even jewelry skills. The level of execution required is very high and often takes enormous amounts of hours. Despite the challenges, the final product, the costume, is a stunning work of art that enhances an opera or ballet performance by immersing the audience in the director's fantasy world brought to life on stage.
