Sheki - An ancient city with a history of two and a half millennia. According to historians, the name of Sheki, located on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus, comes from the name of the Saka tribes that once inhabited these lands. This word changed from the original Saka, then Shaka, and later it began to sound like Sheki. This is one of the most famous eastern cities; in the Middle Ages it was the capital of the world-famous Sheki Khanate.
