A flash mob honoring Abilkhan
Kasteyev, one of the pioneers of Kazakh fine arts, was held in Almaty. To mark
the artist's 120th birth anniversary, 120 schoolchildren simultaneously created
paintings. The young artists expressed their love for their homeland in their
artworks, depicting picturesque landscapes, auyls, and portraits of Kazakh
batyrs. According to the organizers, drawing will help reveal the creative
potential of school students and enhance their visual thinking abilities. As
part of the event, the students also organized an eco flash mob, creating
sculptural compositions that breathed new life into old items.
“Overall, it's important for us
to teach children to care for nature and the environment, be responsible at
school, and love their homeland,” said Saltanat Kussainova, Head of the Education
Department of the Nauryzbai district in Almaty city.
“I’ve loved drawing since childhood,
especially landscapes. Now, I have set myself a goal of becoming an artist when
I grow up,” a school student Altynai Daurbai said.
