New academic year starts in Kazakhstan for about four million schoolchildren

About four million Kazakh schoolchildren have started the new academic year. According to the country’s Ministry of Education, there are around 360,000 first graders. Notably, about 90,000 students will study in newly opened schools, and more than 200,000 in 178 schools that have undergone major repairs. Also, about 1,000 rural schools have been reconstructed. Subject classrooms in the regions have been updated and modernized, with more than 1,500 classes featuring specialized equipment. Besides, nine comfortable schools have been opened, with plans to launch 217 more by year-end. It is worth reminding that the Comfortable School national project is being implemented on the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

«To ensure high-speed internet in all schools, 1,731 STARLINK satellites have been installed, leading to a threefold improvement in internet quality. All textbooks have been digitized and are available on 11 platforms. Currently, the Ministry of Education is working on integrating artificial intelligence into the state compulsory education standard,» said Gani Beisembayev, Kazakh Minister of Education.
