The national competition of kui performers ‘Akzhelen’ is taking place in Aktobe. Nearly 30 participants from different regions of Kazakhstan compete in the event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the famous kui performer Saduakas Balmagambetov. The contest is held to popularize this art and improve the professional skills of performers.
“Saduakas Balmagambetov has more than 20 kuis. Our main goal is to promote his works. Performers from different regions of the country came to the competition. The interest in this art is growing every year,” said Turar Alipbayev, professor at Kazakh National University of Arts.
