Asian bloggers visit sites of World Nomad Games in Astana

The Directorate for the preparation and holding of the fifth World Nomad Games aims to promote the cultural and sporting event and acquaint the world with Kazakhstan’s national games and tourism industry. To this end, they invited 11 bloggers and influencers from eight countries, including from Thailand, Malaysia, China, Oman, Türkiye, Vietnam, Italy, Azerbaijan, and the Kyrgyz Republic. The guests got acquainted with Kazakh kuresi (wrestling), kusbegilik, assyk atu, togyzkumalak, traditional archery, and others. The content creators both learned the rules and tested their skills in the competitions.

«All here is very interesting, but I liked archery. I haven’t tried it yet. I can say it’s very adventurous and one of the traditional games. I love Kazakhstan so much! I love the people here as well. They are very friendly and kind,» said Nur Ruhainies Farehah, blogger from Malaysia.

«This is my first time in Kazakhstan, I love it so much here. I love the archery and also the mas-wrestling. This is the first time I’ve seen sport like the mas-wrestling, and it’s really cool. As for the archery, I’ve tried it just now, it’s not as easy as it seems,» said Nur Riesha Sharmin, blogger from Malaysia.

«I’ve been traveling over 15 years around the world to write a blog; a travel guide to inspire people to travel more. This is the second time I’m in Kazakhstan. So, this time I came here again to see the different side, the other side of the country’s beauties and also nomad sports. It’s going to be fantastic to be here and see the nomad games with other people, other sports. It’s going to be more exciting. When I was a kid, we were playing assyk,» said Kemal Kaya, blogger from Türkiye.

Organizers believe that national sports will not only showcase the richness of Kazakh culture but also highlight its uniqueness and attract even more international tourists to the country.
