The first large
industrial-logistics hub may appear in the Almaty region. The project is set to
be implemented in several stages. The first phase is scheduled for completion
by 2027, the second by 2029, and the final phase by 2032. Overall, about 550
hectares of land will be required for its launch.
«215 hectares of land will be
allocated for open trading platforms. It is also planned to launch a container
terminal on 250 hectares, and 85 hectares of land will be designated for a
railway station. The overall project cost is estimated at 90 billion tenge,
with expectations to create about 3,000 new jobs. The project includes the
development of a logistics park with terminals and warehouses, as well as the
construction of a multimodal transport and logistics center. The
industrial-logistics hub aims to leverage the transit potential of Kazakhstan
and the Almaty region, creating a synergistic effect that sets it apart from
other hubs. It is anticipated to stabilize prices in the transport and
logistics sector,» said Yerlan Koishybayev, spokesperson for the Entrepreneurship
and Industrial-Innovative Development Department of the Almaty region.
