Kazakhstan to assist Africa with e-government technologies

Kazakhstan will provide technical assistance to an African country in developing e-government. According to the Kazakhstan Agency for International Development (KazAID), the transfer of digital components of eGov took place under grant support to Sierra Leone. As part of the signed memorandum of cooperation for exporting Kazakh IT solutions, the Smart Bridge Service Showcase, Unified Platform for Internet Resources of Government Agencies, and Smart Data Ukimet information and analytical system were provided. Currently, a Kazakh delegation is assessing Sierra Leone’s digital maturity in information and communication infrastructure to facilitate further IT solution implementations.

«Currently, we are continuing to analyze the infrastructure and audit existing regulatory acts in Sierra Leone to identify areas needing enhancements for faster implementation of our products. Concurrently, we will commence training government agencies in Sierra Leone to use these tools. We are awaiting the provision of servers that meet the necessary specifications for the complete installation of these products,» said Dmitriy Mun, Acting Chairman of National Information Technologies.

Notably, Kazakhstan ranks high in international e-government rankings. For example, the country is 28th out of 193 nations in the E-Government Development Index and eighth in the Online Service Index.
