Kazakhstan registers over 1,000 COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours

The number of COVID cases continues to grow in Kazakhstan. The country reported 1,104 new infections in the last 24 hours. Three megacities account for the highest single-day caseload. Thus, the southern metropolis of Almaty detected 350 new positive cases of infection in the past day, followed by Nur-Sultan and Shymkent with 328 and 102 new cases, respectively. According to data from the Health Ministry, since the onset of the pandemic, more than 1,312,000 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Kazakhstan. At present, about 4,500 citizens continue to receive treatment for coronavirus. As for the vaccination rate, according to the latest data, over 9,317,000 residents have received two vaccine doses, while more than 4,884,000 people have gotten their booster shot.
