Kazakhstan is experiencing an inflation
decline for the fifth month in a row. The growth rate slowed down by nearly two
percent over the June-July period. Overall, the annual inflation rate remained
at 14 percent by the end of July, according to the Bureau of National
Statistics. The main reason for its decline was the change in prices for food
products, namely sugar, buckwheat, sunflower oil, beetroot, carrots, and
potatoes, which have significantly decreased over the past month. However, it
is still impossible to stop inflation despite such a positive trend, analysts
note. Also, the price of non-food products and services in the country
increased by 13-15 percent. It bears noting that the highest annual inflation
rate was recorded in Astana city and the Ulytau and North Kazakhstan regions
and the lowest one in Almaty city.
