Kazakhstan is actively
developing a project to support social businesses among women - «JumpStart».
The results of the three-month incubation program were announced in Astana. A
total of 20 socially-oriented initiatives proposed by young Kazakh women were
selected to participate in the project. Participants, aged 18 to 35, underwent
a step-by-step educational course on developing their ideas, from concept to
practical implementation. The program introduced them to modern innovative
approaches for supporting sustainable social initiatives. Now, they need to
attract investor funding to give a boost to the development of their projects,
and JumpStart will assist them in this. Notably, this incubation program was
launched with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan.
«We studied various
topics, including how to improve social impact through artificial intelligence.
Specifically, how to develop a business from a financial standpoint and attract
investments. Every year, we try to conduct such programs. An accelerator is
needed to support social projects. Therefore, we are considering launching it
in March,» noted Aigerim Janalinova, founder of the «JumpStart» project.
«Our project is called
«Alem Connect» – the first innovative inclusive project in Kazakhstan, which
operates using high-tech devices. Specifically, we work with the eye tracker
device, which reads the movement of the pupil on the monitor through the
retina, processes and transmits this information, and performs an action. This
device enables people who have had a stroke, as well as children with
disabilities, to socialize in society, learn communication skills, and even
acquire a profession. We have already trained 67 children, and two of our children
have completed the second quarter of the program. Currently, we are translating
the methodology into Kazakh,» said Sabina Zhakiyenova, «Alem Connect» project coordinator.
