By the end of 2025, 100 percent of
Kazakhstan’s population will have access to quality drinking water. The
country’s Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation states that work in this
direction is being carried out systematically. Currently, around 30 projects
are being implemented simultaneously in nine regions. The plan includes
reconstructing and constructing 2,000 kilometers of water pipelines. This year,
a total of 218 billion tenge has been allocated from the state budget for the
construction and restoration of water supply and sewage systems. According to
the relevant ministry, the majority of these funds are earmarked for projects
in rural areas.
«As part of administrative reform aimed at
ensuring and organizing the livelihoods of the local population, the Ministry
is transferring group water supply systems to the balance sheets of local
executive bodies to enhance water management efficiency,» Kazakh First Vice
Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Bolat Bekniyaz said.
