Kazakh president arrives on working visit to Tajikistan

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrives on a working visit to Tajikistan. The Head of State will participate in the fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the meeting of the Council of Heads of States-founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS). It is worth noting that Tajik President Emomali Rahmon was on a working visit to Astana in August.

Kazakhstan strengthens trade ties with Tajikistan

The mutual trade turnover between the two states exceeded $557 million in the first six months of this year. It bears noting that Kazakhstan is among the top three largest trade partners of Tajikistan. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration, exports of domestic goods to Tajikistan, including wheat, sunflower oil, non-alloyed steel products, oil products and others, increased by nearly seven percent and reached over $387 million. Recently, Kazakh business people participated in a trade and economic mission in Dushanbe. Following business meetings, local entrepreneurs signed contracts worth $82 million.
