Kazakh PM reviews Kosshy city master plan

The population of Kosshy is projected to reach 150,000 residents by 2038. Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov was presented with a master plan for the development of the city, located near the capital. This plan includes territorial expansion, infrastructure upgrades, and the construction of new social facilities. By 2038, around 50 new kindergartens, schools, hospitals, and clinics are expected to be built. The plan also includes the construction of a new boiler house, an electrical substation, power lines, and water supply and sewage treatment facilities. A new road to Astana is also planned. To foster industrial growth and create new jobs, a 264-hectare industrial zone is set to open in the city’s northwest. Kosshy also plans to enhance public squares, open an amusement and recreation park, and build a stadium, an ice palace, a theatre, and a wedding palace.

«The new master plan outlines territorial expansion, new planning solutions, functional zoning, and specific measures for engineering and transport infrastructure. In terms of figures, it allocates more than 900 hectares for individual housing construction and around 360 hectares for multi-apartment residential buildings. The plan also includes innovative solutions for heating, water supply, and sewage treatment facilities,» said Azamat Kapyshev, Mayor of Kosshy.
