Beshbarmak, sirne, Nauryz kozhe, naryn, kespe, and baursaks
are among the traditional dishes of Kazakh cuisine that may be incorporated
into the menu of the country’s military personnel. The initiative to update the
menu was proposed by the National Guard, emphasizing that high-calorie,
energy-rich food improves metabolism, supports the immune system, and aids in
rapid recovery after intense physical activity. Beyond health benefits, the
initiative also serves as a form of patriotic education, reminding soldiers of
their cultural roots and strengthening their connection to their heritage. The
new nutritional standards were developed in collaboration with scientists.
«Incorporating national dishes into the military food system
is not just a culinary innovation; it is also a crucial step in boosting the
combat spirit and preserving the cultural identity of our military personnel.
The proposed changes have been preliminarily approved by the Kazakh Academy of
Nutrition,» said Medet Shaikenov, senior officer of the Food Supply Department
of the Logistics Directorate of the Kazakh National Guard.
It is worth noting that law enforcement troops tested the
updated menu last year. At that time, the guards noted that familiar flavors
boost motivation and, overall, improve their psychological mindset during
service.
