Shymkent is set to experience the modernization of industrial areas, a surge in housing construction, the remediation of environmental risk zones, and the overall improvement of living conditions for its citizens. The Kazakh government approved the city’s master plan for the period until 2035. The document stipulates that a new bypass railway line and a railway station with a capacity of 20,000 passengers per day will be established in the metropolis. Additionally, the development of the city’s economic sectors will focus on bolstering efficiency, competitiveness, and the quality of domestic products. At the same time, a separate section in the plan highlights the expansion and modernization of telecommunication networks using Next Generation Network technology.

“The government has approved the new master plan for the development of Shymkent until 2035. The corresponding decree was signed by Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov. Special attention is paid to the modernization of industrial territories, with plans to increase their area by 5,000 hectares through building new industrial zones. The measures taken will provide over one million jobs. The plan also includes projects of water protection strips along the Badam, Koshkarata, Karasu, and Sairamsu rivers,” said Dinara Alimova, Press Secretary to the Kazakh Prime Minister.
