An exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of
Kazakhstan’s Constitution has opened in Astana, featuring about 150 museum
exhibits and archival documents from the Presidential Center. The collection
highlights the evolution of constitutionalism in the country since the adoption
of the updated Constitution in 1995. Among the unique exhibits are editions of the Basic
Law in Kazakh and Russian, made in Braille for visually impaired citizens. A striking
highlight is a photograph showing the Constitution at the peaks of the
Himalayas.
«This copy of the Constitution was taken to one of the
Himalayan peaks. Kazakh mountaineer Alibek Kairbek captured that moment, and
the photograph is now displayed at the exhibition. In a way, this is a symbolic
tribute by a Kazakh citizen to the Constitution – the fundamental law of our
state,» said Botagoz
Kaipova, Deputy Director of Kazakhstan’s Presidential Center.
