Bolat Sarybaev is a founder of ethnoinstrumentology in Kazakhstan and a real aocheologist of music. Doctor of art history, researcher, creator of several folklore ensembles, Bolat Shamgalievich Sarybaev managed to rediscover and revive more than 30 folk instruments during his life. He traveled to all regions at his own expense, looking for old-timers who sculpted sazsyrnay from clay, craftsmen who made zhetygen, craftsmen who remembered the technique of playing the sherter. He was in the west and east of the country. Thanks to his constant searches, today, passing through the corridors of the conservatory, you can see students playing the zhetygen, sybyzgy and other instruments.
