She devoted many years to the study of the Great Silk Road. Her works have become a bridge connecting the cultures of the two countries. In China, Sofia has lived for 14 years. She left Almaty to continue her scientific research and she is still studying this field.
Sofia is now a director of the research center of law of Central Asia, Kazakhstan and Russia at China’s Institute of the Silk Road. She is a professor of the law school at Xi'an Jiaotong Universit and a well-known public figure.
