Several renewable
energy facilities are set to be launched in Kazakhstan. Thus, biogas production
will commence in the Akmola region. A German company with expertise in similar
installations across Europe and South America plans to establish a plant with a
capacity of 500 kW, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs reports.
Biogas production will allow reducing livestock waste, repurposing it as
fertilizer, and most notably, mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. This all
will have a positive impact on the environment. It is worth mentioning that the
residues generated after biogas production will be utilized as peat for
enriching fields. The construction is projected to be completed at the end of
next year. Meanwhile, in the Mangystau region, an Italian company is building a
hybrid power plant expected to become operational within two years. The project
aims to diversify and decarbonize the energy supply of the region. The plant,
with a capacity of 120 MW, will be powered by renewable energy sources, including
wind, solar, and gas. It should be noted that these facilities are being
established on the instructions of the Head of State as part of the country’s
green energy development.
