Kazakhstan leads Central Asia and CIS in GDP growth

Kazakhstan is taking the lead in GDP growth among Central Asian and CIS states. The country is surpassing the overall indicators of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, and Moldova. According to the International Monetary Fund forecast, Kazakhstan’s economic growth will approach $355 billion by 2028, which is almost 37 percent higher than this year, Finprom.kz reports. Also, in 2023, the country’s GDP volume is projected to exceed $259 billion, a 15 percent increase in value terms compared to 2022. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has set an ambitious task for the government to double the country’s economic output to $450 billion by 2029. This will be possible with a stable economic growth of at least six percent per year. The implementation of projects in the manufacturing industry plays a crucial role in achieving this strategic goal. There are plans to put into operation over 290 projects in non-oil sectors this year.
