Kazakh Mazhilis takes up amendments to draft law on healthcare

Members of the Mazhilis, a Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament, have begun working on a draft law on healthcare, incorporating amendments proposed by Senate members last week. These include banning vape advertising, introduction of criminal and administrative penalties on gambling business organizers, and blocking Internet resources belonging to foreign bookmakers without licenses. Mazhilis member Askhat Aimagambetov reported on this.

“The main updates to the legislation include provisions banning the placement and distribution of advertising for bookmakers and totalizators on buildings, billboards, mass media, and vehicles. Furthermore, the proposed amendments aim to restrict advertising in other places. Additionally, there is a proposal to prohibit citizens listed in the Unified Register of Debtors from participating in gambling,” said Aimagambetov.

It is worth noting that the primary focus of the bill is on the activities of healthcare workers and the enhancement of their status and prestige. Additionally, the document includes provisions for implementing a model of professional liability insurance for doctors.
