Hungary and Kazakhstan have spent the past decade building a strategic partnership spanning the economy, energy, agriculture, and cultural ties. Hungarian companies are steadily expanding their presence in Kazakhstan: from oil and gas projects to the construction of animal feed plants.
Hungary’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Otto Ivan Róna, spoke about the potential for mutual investment, the cultural kinship between the nations, and their shared historical heritage. The Ambassador also shared his first impressions of the Kazakh winter, his experience working across Europe and Asia, and why he believes a diplomat cannot remain «a diplomat behind a laptop,» but must meet people face to face across the regions.
