Number of COVID-19 cases keeps rising in Kazakhstan. This has, primarily, a psychological impact on all citizens. The experts therefore stress the importance of professional support in the fight against the dangerous disease. There is a solution – a special psychological assistance website operates in Kazakhstan. What one should do to avoid stress? For professional advice, we turned to experts from the National Scientific and Practical Center for Mental Health. They shared with us some basic psychological protection techniques during the COVID-19 era.
“Surely, this affects not only the person infected with coronavirus, but also other family members. Everyone is under emotional pressure. That is why it is necessary to improve the psychological environment in the family. An ill person needs to be encouraged with kind words. That way they will have spiritual strength, and the medicine they take will be more effective. It will help strengthen the immune system of a person under stress,” said Zhuldyzai Aliyeva, psychologist at the National Scientific and Practical Center for Mental Health.
“One more point is that people are affected by external factors. Unfortunately, there is a lot of negative information nowadays. Therefore, all news should be obtained only from trusted official sources,” added Sandugash Kudaibergenova, a fellow psychologist.
