Elements of artificial intelligence are being actively integrated into Kazakhstan’s healthcare system. The qMed platform is now used to manage chronic non-communicable diseases. This innovation streamlines communication between doctors and patients while automating many tasks for medical staff. For example, it helps optimize routine paperwork, reduce the risk of errors, improve the quality of care, and save time overall. Patients also benefit from a convenient mobile app that allows them to track their health and receive medical advice remotely. The results are already evident: last year in Astana, the number of ambulance calls decreased by 60%, and home doctor visits dropped by 64% thanks to the platform. In the near future, qMed will be rolled out in the Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, and Zhetisu regions, as well as in Shymkent.
«Our platform categorizes
patients into green, yellow, and red zones. When a patient enters the yellow zone,
they automatically receive a notification informing them that they have entered
the yellow zone, along with details about their symptoms and complications, and
a prompt to contact their doctor immediately. At the same time, the system
notifies the attending physician and nurse through the healthcare
organization’s interface that this particular patient has entered the yellow
zone that day,» said developer Nurlan Biimbet.
