Almaty can rightfully be called the sports capital of our country. The city is filled with remarkable sports facilities. One of them is the Baluan Sholak Sports Complex, which has a 60-year history. It hosts major sports championships, concerts, and entertainment shows. In the early 1990s, the facility was renamed the Palace of Sports and Culture after the famous Kazakh composer Baluan Sholak.
