Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was briefed by
Governor of the Abai region Berik Uali on the region’s plans and current
socio-economic development. A total of 24 investment projects worth 2.2
trillion tenge are planned for implementation by the end of 2028, with six of
them expected to be implemented this year. Uali informed President Tokayev
about the state of social facilities and municipal infrastructure in the
region. As part of the Comfortable School national project, five facilities and
a Schoolchildren’s Palace are under construction. Additionally, a new bridge is
being built across the Irtysh River, and design and estimate documentation is
being prepared for the reconstruction of the suspension bridge in the regional
center. The issue of constructing a bypass road around Semei is also being
worked out. The Head of State instructed Uali to work with the Government on
exploring ways to accelerate the region's development and address current
tasks in stages. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring the dignified
celebration of the 180th anniversary of the great Abai.
